The position of IoD Northern Ireland Chairman is high profile and requires someone special who, amongst other strong leadership and influencing skills, will be a good communicator able to handle the media as well as demonstrate an understanding of Northern Ireland, its politics and its business and civic community. He or she will possess the core competencies of an effective director including strategic direction, independence and judgement.
The new Chair will take over in mid-2016 and will lead the substantial group of volunteers, who make the organisation function in Northern Ireland, and who will act as the chairman of the Northern Ireland, as well as being a key public figurehead for the organisation.
Once appointed he or she will work with the small staff team based in Belfast and with UK colleagues to increase the reach and impact of the IoD, particularly in areas of membership growth and director development.
